SharePoint: the administration service is running so all administration jobs will be run in the timer service
Fix a SharePoint 2010 solution deployment stuck on Deploying by restarting the admin service and running the pending admin jobs.
A solution deployment can sit at the status "Deploying" and never finish. Running the admin jobs manually does not help:

stsadm -o execadmsvcjobs
It returns this message:

in the timer service
To fix it, run these commands in the SharePoint Management Shell:
powershell
net stop SPAdminV4
Start-SPAdminJob
net start SPAdminV4
Stopping the admin service lets Start-SPAdminJob run the queued jobs, and starting it again returns the farm to normal.
